NewCold is a global leader in end-to-end cold chain logistics, specializing in frozen transportation and temperature-controlled warehousing. Ranked the third-largest refrigerated warehousing and logistics provider in the world, NewCold combines highly automated cold storage facilities with dedicated transport operations to manage frozen supply chains from collection to final delivery.
With an owned fleet of 300+ trucks and 700+ trailers, and hubs across 10+ countries, NewCold keeps products moving safely and reliably across the cold chain. Headquartered in the Netherlands, with operations across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, we partner with some of the world’s largest food brands to keep products protected, on time, and ready for the next stage of the supply chain.
Many established cold chain networks still rely on facilities built 10, 15 or even 35+ years ago. NewCold warehouses were built for a different generation of logistics.
Many of our facilities are only a few years old and purpose-built around automation, high-density storage and efficient operations. Instead of adapting legacy infrastructure to modern demands, we design our warehouses for them from the start.
In France, this approach is reflected in our highly automated cold storage facilities in Argentan, Normandy, and Montauban-de-Bretagne near Rennes, Brittany. Together, they provide customers with a strong logistics base in western France. Argentan offers efficient access towards Caen, northern France and key north-south freight routes, while Montauban-de-Bretagne sits at the heart of one of France’s most important food-producing regions. This allows customers to bring products into France, store inventory closer to demand and distribute efficiently across the country or into the wider European network.
That combination of modern infrastructure and rapid growth has already made NewCold one of the largest temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics providers in the world.
NewCold operates a younger network built on smarter automation and global scale. It is designed specifically for the future of food logistics.
1. We collect from your manufacturing facility
We arrange B2B frozen FTL transport from your production facility, supplier, port, or other loading location. Transport is planned around your temperature requirements, loading times, delivery appointments, and route.
2. We receive, store and prepare
When products arrive at NewCold, pallets are registered, tracked and directed to storage, cross-docking or consolidation. Products requiring storage move into our automated high-bay warehouses, where inventory and pallet locations are continuously tracked. When orders are released, goods are automatically retrieved, consolidated where needed and prepared for outbound transport.
3. We deliver to your retailers
NewCold arranges outbound frozen transport from our warehouse to your customers, distribution centres, retail networks, or other destinations. Temperature control, visibility, and traceability continue throughout transportation, helping protect product integrity from storage through to final delivery. With NewCold managing both warehousing and transport, your logistics flow stays connected instead of being managed separately.

NewCold provides an integrated cold chain solution combining temperature-controlled warehousing and transport. We can collect products from your production site, supplier, or port, store them in our automated cold storage facilities, and arrange onward delivery to customers, distribution centres, retailers, or other destinations.
This gives you one logistics partner for the full flow from pickup through storage to final delivery.
NewCold supports a wide range of frozen, chilled, and temperature-sensitive food products that require controlled storage and transportation conditions throughout the supply chain.
This includes products such as ice cream, frozen bakery, frozen meals, meat and poultry, dairy products, prepared foods, proteins, ingredients, and other packaged food products. Whether products need to remain deep-frozen, chilled, or within another specified temperature range, the logistics setup is planned around the requirements of the product.
We take into account factors such as temperature set-points, storage duration, pallet volumes, handling requirements, loading and unloading conditions, shipment frequency, and final delivery destinations. This allows warehousing and transport to be coordinated as one continuous cold chain rather than as separate services.
For customers with recurring volumes, NewCold can also align inbound collection, storage capacity, inventory flows, order preparation, and outbound distribution around production schedules and customer demand, helping products move efficiently from production or pickup through storage and on to their final destination..
Yes. Warehousing does not have to be part of the solution.
NewCold also provides B2B road transport as a standalone service, supporting direct deliveries between production sites, warehouses, distribution centres, ports, retailers, and customers.
Depending on the type of product, loading method, and transport requirements, we can provide refrigerated trailers, box trailers, and tautliners. This allows us to match the equipment to the shipment rather than using the same type of trailer for every load.
Refrigerated, or reefer, trailers are designed for products that need to remain within a specified temperature range throughout transportation.
They are typically used for frozen, chilled, and other temperature-sensitive products, including food products where maintaining temperature integrity is essential. The trailer temperature can be set according to the requirements of the load, helping protect product quality from collection through to delivery.
Choose refrigerated transport when:
Box trailers have a fully enclosed, rigid body but do not normally provide active temperature control. They offer strong protection from weather and provide a secure enclosed environment for the goods during transport.
They are well suited to ambient products and other goods that do not require refrigeration, particularly when additional protection or security is important.
Choose a box trailer when:
Tautliners, also known as curtain-sided trailers, use flexible side curtains that can be opened to provide access along the length of the trailer.
Their main advantage is loading flexibility. Goods can be loaded and unloaded from the side as well as from the rear, making tautliners particularly useful for palletised products, larger loads, or locations where side loading with a forklift is more practical.
Choose a tautliner when:
The right trailer ultimately depends on what you are transporting, whether temperature control is required, how the goods need to be loaded, and the requirements at the pickup and delivery locations.
NewCold can assess these requirements and select the most suitable equipment for each lane. This means customers can use NewCold not only for refrigerated food logistics, but also for a broader range of transport requirements, with one transport partner coordinating the appropriate equipment for every shipment.
Automation helps make cold storage operations faster, more consistent, and more reliable by reducing the number of manual steps required to move and manage products.
In an automated warehouse, pallets can be received, stored, retrieved, and prepared for outbound transport through highly controlled systems designed to handle large volumes efficiently. This reduces unnecessary product movement, shortens handling times, and helps goods move through the warehouse in a predictable and repeatable way.
Automation also reduces the risk of human error. Product locations, inventory movements, and order preparation can be managed digitally, helping improve inventory accuracy, traceability, and order reliability. When products need to be retrieved for delivery, the system knows where they are stored and can move them efficiently into the outbound flow.
For temperature-controlled products, fewer manual handling steps also mean less exposure to temperature fluctuations, helping protect product quality throughout storage and order preparation.
The result is a warehouse operation that can respond quickly to changing volumes while maintaining consistent service levels. For customers, this means faster product movements, more dependable order preparation, better inventory visibility, and a more reliable connection between storage and transport.
We support logistics flows across France and the wider European network. Products can be collected from production facilities, suppliers, ports, or other agreed locations and delivered to customers, distribution centres, retailers, foodservice networks, or other destinations.
Our French cold storage facilities in Argentan and Montauban-de-Bretagne provide a strong logistics base for serving western France and connecting customers with the wider NewCold network.
NewCold is built around a vertically integrated logistics model. Rather than relying heavily on external suppliers for the systems behind our operations, we have specialist companies and teams within the NewCold group covering key parts of the cold chain, from warehouse racking and material-handling technology to automation, warehouse software, transport operations, and digital transport management.
This means the people designing, operating, maintaining, and improving our logistics infrastructure work closely together. Our warehouses are not simply buildings filled with technology purchased from different providers. Many of the critical systems are developed and supported by teams that understand how the entire NewCold operation needs to perform.
For customers, that creates several important advantages. Maintenance and technical issues can be addressed faster, with less dependency on third-party availability or lengthy escalation processes. Our teams have direct knowledge of the equipment and software they support, making it easier to identify problems, make adjustments, carry out upgrades, and keep operations running reliably.
It also removes much of the complexity that can come with multiple external providers. Instead of different suppliers being responsible for the racking, automation, software, warehouse operation, and transport, NewCold can coordinate these elements as one connected logistics system with clear accountability.
The same approach helps us respond to changing customer needs. Because we control more of the technology and infrastructure ourselves, we can adapt systems, capacity, and operational processes without having to wait for several unrelated suppliers to coordinate with one another.
For customers, the result is greater operational reliability, faster problem resolution, better-maintained infrastructure, and one accountable partner across warehousing and transport, helping keep products moving even when conditions or requirements change.
