NewCold bolsters growth through joint venture with warehousing specialist Global Metal Construction

Breda, The Netherlands, March 15 – Two fast-growing global leaders in smart supply chain logistics and industrial warehousing have joined forces to leverage reach, expertise, and innovation.

NewCold, the Dutch-origin cold chain logistics experts, and Global Metal Construction (GMC), the Bosnia and Herzegovina-born industrial warehousing specialists, have sharpened their ability to execute for customers by creating NewCold Metal Construction (NMC). The joint venture comes about through stakes taken in NMC by NewCold’s investment arm Haven Ventures and GMC shareholders.

Over the past decade GMC, which will be known as NMC, has gone from a local company based in Usora to a global leader in the construction of large industrial warehouses. Today it is active on six continents with projects in countries as diverse as Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Canada, and the UK. Global corporate giants such as Lidl, Walmart, Ikea, Barilla, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Michelin, Ferrari, Porsche, and Mercedes have chosen to use storage systems and accompanying mechanisms assembled and installed by GMC.

Every month, the company installs over 27,300 pallet positions using almost 2,000 tons of steel in the process. GMC CEO Adnan Bajraktarević said: “From the installation projects of high-rack automatic warehouses, mini-load warehouses, drive-in systems, mezzanines, to electrical installation services of low and high current, GMC essentially covers all phases of the construction of large industrial warehouses. The majority of our projects are completed outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
