The Dutch logistics sector is changing rapidly. Innovation, automation, sustainability and digitalization are becoming increasingly important in how logistics providers are evaluated.
This shift is reflected in the Top 100 Logistics Service Providers 2026, published by Logistiek.nl and Buck Consultants International (BCI). NewCold entered the ranking for the first time at position 12, making it the highest ranked newcomer in this year’s list. With an index score of 35.14, NewCold placed just outside the national top ten and ahead of many established logistics companies.
Now in its 26th edition, the annual ranking assesses logistics companies using a combination of business scale indicators, including revenue, employee numbers and warehouse footprint, together with innovation performance across six themes: sustainable transport, sustainable warehousing, labor and education, smart warehousing, supply chain management and digitalization.
For NewCold, this recognition highlights the growing importance of automated temperature-controlled logistics within the wider logistics sector.
“Being recognized as the highest ranked newcomer in the Top 100 Logistics Service Providers is a great achievement for NewCold and a reflection of the journey we are on as a company,” said Bram Hage, Founder and CEO of NewCold. “This ranking acknowledges not only our scale and growth, but also the innovation that sits at the core of our business. Through automation, digitalization, and our proprietary technology platform, we are redefining what modern cold chain logistics can look like.”
Purpose built for the future
NewCold has built its business on automation, software and data driven operations, combining large scale automated warehousing with digital supply chain solutions. Through its end to end cold chain services, NewCold helps customers simplify complex logistics networks, improve supply chain performance and increase efficiency. Its facilities are designed to deliver reliable cold chain solutions while supporting more sustainable operations through optimized energy use and advanced warehouse design.
The Top 100 ranking places a strong focus on innovation, encouraging participants to demonstrate progress in areas such as smart warehousing, digitalization and supply chain management. This year’s methodology enabled companies to better showcase the innovations that set them apart.
NewCold’s strong debut reflects the increasing role that automated cold storage plays in the future of logistics. What was once considered a specialist segment is now becoming a critical part of modern supply chains.
Recognition of a long term strategy
Over the past several years, NewCold has expanded globally while continuing to invest in technology, sustainability and operational excellence. The company’s growth has been driven by its ability to combine large scale infrastructure with advanced automation and integrated supply chain solutions.
The recognition from BCI and Logistiek.nl is an external validation of that long term strategy and of NewCold’s growing position within the Dutch logistics market.
