NewCold launches Corby expansion, increasing automated cold storage capacity in the UK

NewCold, a global leader in automated cold storage and supply chain logistics, has officially launched Corby 3, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to delivering high-efficiency cold chain solutions for the frozen food industry.

The Corby expansion adds over 33,000 pallet positions to NewCold’s UK network, bringing the total across the three facilities to over 185,000 pallet positions.

The completion of Corby 3 marks the final phase of a strategic development project aimed at expanding NewCold’s frozen food logistics capabilities in one of the UK’s most vital distribution corridors. The site’s high-density, fully automated systems are designed to deliver improved energy efficiency, traceability, and service levels, providing key benefits in today’s increasingly complex food supply chain landscape.

Despite a fast-moving and complex construction timeline, the Corby 3 project was delivered successfully thanks to strong collaboration across internal teams and trusted external partners.

Now fully operational and integrated into NewCold’s wider UK cold storage network that includes facilities in both Corby and Wakefield, Corby 3 is built to serve as a hub for efficiency and innovation.
