Our 2026 Sustainability Statement sets out how NewCold is turning ambition into measurable progress across our global operations.

A core pillar of this commitment is NewCold’s ambition to achieve net zero emissions. Through continuous innovation, energy‑efficient design, and data‑driven decision‑making, we are actively reducing emissions across our operations and value chain.

We design, build, and operate highly automated, high‑density warehouses that optimize land use, energy consumption, and resource efficiency. Powered by proprietary technology, smart algorithms, and advanced robotics, our facilities operate at around 50% lower energy consumption than conventional cold stores, while delivering higher capacity from a smaller footprint. These innovations also cut loading times, reduce temperature fluctuations, and lower emissions in our customers’ supply chains.

NewCold is accelerating its transition to renewable and flexible energy systems. Investments in onsite solar power, combined heat and power generation, and advanced energy management technologies are enabling our facilities to become increasingly grid‑independent. Our Dinteloord facility in the Netherlands demonstrates how collaboration, smart design, and circular energy solutions can enable near off‑grid operation at scale.

Alongside energy transformation, we are reshaping the sustainability profile of our transportation activities through electric truck pilots, low‑emission fuels, alternative cooling technologies, and intelligent route optimization. Across our company, we are actively measuring and managing emissions, strengthening data quality, and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Beyond environmental performance, our Sustainability Statement highlights our continued focus on food safety, employee safety and well‑being, ethical sourcing, diversity and inclusion, strong governance, and community engagement. Food safety remains the cornerstone of our operations, with all established sites certified to internationally recognized GFSI standards.
